FOR

RESIDENTS’ LETTERS TO BE HAND DELIVERED TO PENNDOT
DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR
February
23, 2002
“We cannot sleep with our windows open, nor can we converse in normal speaking voices on our patio”…“My wife and I recently had to move our 7 year old daughter to another bedroom in the house because she was not able to sleep as a result of the traffic volume.”….”If you were in my backyard during the summer months you would think you were in the first row of a Nascar race!”…..:Someone needs to visit the homes – not discuss this in a meeting room!”…. “…..adjoining the Radnor Valley Country Club there is construction underway to add a sound barrier FOR A GOLF COURSE, without homes within ¼ mile or more. We have homes with PEOPLE in them just 100 feet or so of Route 202 section 300!”
These are excerpts from letters from the residents of close to 300 homes
impacted by the Route 202 Section 300 Expansion. They are writing Andrew
Warren, District Administrator of PennDot, to make him more fully aware of
individual residents deep feelings about proper noise abatement measures,
specifically sound barriers and “full depth” asphalt road surfaces.
