Board minutes July 12, 2005
<>
The meeting was called to order at 7:40. Those in attendance were Cathy
Lucas,
Mitsie Toland, John Coffin, Jane Charpentier, Albert Charpentier, and
Polly
Hagan.
Committee Reports
- Zoning – The bridge
project on Church Road
has been approved. The work should be completed by September.
- Communications –
Cathy is preparing the labels for mailing the announcement of the
annual meeting on October 11. The dues letter ($20) will be included in
the mailing. The items to be discussed are the plans for the Turnpike
slip ramp, the expansion of the area covered by the GVA to include Glen
Craig and Valley Green, and the Route 202 project status. Also, it was
suggested that Mimi Gleason be invited, as she is in the running for
the position of Township Manager. Another
possibility would be Jim Gerlach our US Congresman.

Topics of Discussion
- Cathy called Don
Klingensmith and Brad Higel from the Turnpike Commisssion. They will
not be sending anyone to our annual meeting as their plans are not firm
for the Turnpike expansion. However, Brad suggested that Pat Dougherty
from Urban Engineers would meet with us. He is the reviewing highway
advisor. The meeting with Mr. Dougherty
was very informative. He said that the sound studies are being done.
There are projected noise increases, but the results are not ready for
release. He also led us to believe that the Turnpike is still not
considering sound walls.
- We have not heard
yet from PennDOT about the status of the Route 202 section 300
expansion. It looks like it will be put off until late 2007. The sound
study we had done correlates with the one that PennDOT did. Reflective
sound walls are needed on the south side of the road.
- Church Road
– the buffer zone vote must be redone. Heffernans will move their trees
back on Swedesford Road
to improve the sight line at the Church Road intersection and Liberty will pay
for the expense incurred. There is pressure from Liberty and Vanguard to get the
intersection issue settled. PECO will move the pole which is also in
violation, because it causes sight problems. It appears that Liberty did not
want Church Road
rerouted. However, Liberty
will pay all expenses and wants to meet with the residents to see what
it would take to get Chesterfield
Parkway to continue straight across Swedesford Road.
- It is important to
keep alert to any roadwork applications which must be listed on the PA
Bulletin site.
- The turnpike
subcommittee has to figure out the number of families impacted by the
expansion, what the results are for the noise study, and what Bill
Bryant from the township knows about the water impact of the Turnpike
expansion.
The next meeting will be on September 13th.
The
meeting was adjourned at 9:10.
Respectfully submitted,
Polly Hagan
