Committee Report
- Zoning – John Coffin
reported that there was nothing that really affected our area.
Topics of Discussion
- Swedesford Road – The speed limit has been reduced to 40 mph. Who is
the actual person at PennDOT who makes the decision to reduce the speed
limit and why was it not the 35 mph requested?
- N. Valley Road – There is serious concern about the realignment of the
road lines at the Knobb Hill subdivision. Bill Bryant will be contacted
about redoing the lines on the road. What will be done about the
intersection of N.Valley and Swedesford Roads is apparently still
undecided. The consensus is that a remedy will be delayed to see if the
widening of Route 202 will impact the traffic at that intersection. The
speed limit on Swedesford may have been reduced to make preparations
for work on the road easier. GVA will ask the Board of Supervisors to
leave the intersection alone for the time being. There is also a
question as to the feelings of Vanguard and Liberty on the topic as they are
responsible for a good amount of the traffic at that intersection. It
will probably be at least two years to resolution of this problem. Bill
Bryant will also be contacted about what will be done with the $250,000. from Atwater allocated to remedy the intersection. Don
Jacobs, traffic planner, may have some input here.
- Turnpike Subcommittee – Seventeen
families were represented at the first meeting. Albert addressed the
group giving background on what has happened to this point and
referencing how the GVA worked with a similar organization in its
dealings with PennDOT. The group will meet at the township Building
on May 11th to organize and plan for the future.
- Hudson Property – Mitsie Toland kept the group updated on the
status of the Hudson
property development. There is still question as to exactly how the
development will be arranged on the site. There is concern about
keeping the trees along LeBoutillier
Road. Chip Vaughan is the builder and Brian
O’Neill is the owner of the property. There are 70 acres involved and
the Open Land Conservancy is involved with 39 of those acres.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:10.
