Tredyffrin
Planning Commission Meeting
11/15/01
Items affecting the Great Valley Association are:
Liberty Property Trust’s first presentation of the plan to
connect Church Road to Chesterfield Parkway which leads to the traffic light
at Cedar Hollow and Swedesford. Acting
Tredyffrin Planning Commission Chairman Samuels acknowledged this is a
difficult issue, and a subcommittee will be formed with Bob O’Leary as
chairman and Larry Segal and John Schultz as members.
Also, a resident for the connection of Church Road, and a resident
against the connection have been appointed to the subcommittee. The residents are Steve Burkardt and Ted Heffernan.
Questions were asked of Bill
Bryant, Tredyffrin Director of Public Works, about the cost of a light at
Church and Swedesford. He said it
would be $55,000. This was
approved by the state without a left hand stacking lane.
There was discussion of the backup on Swedesford that no stacking lane
would cause.
Residents of the Church Road area
gave opinions pro and con about the realignment.
There was much discussion about the
expansion of Rt. 29 and its affect on the Church Rd. situation.
A Planning Commission Workshop will
be held the first Thursday in December (Dec. 6), and the commission will plan
how to proceed on the Church Rd. issue.
